In the aftermath of political outsider Donald Trump’s historic win in the 2016 Presidential election, no shortage of liberal celebrities attacked him for his unorthodox and genuine style and point of view. What’s worse is that sports network ESPN got into the act as well, and tried to rile up famous athletes to bash Trump, as well.
Thankfully, legendary Los Angeles Lakers and Orlando Magic star Shaquille O’Neal was not one of those braindead sports celebrities. At the time, he firmly backed Trump as our President and urged liberals to keep an open mind. Now, seven months later, Shaq just doubled down on his comments and took an amazing stand for Trump, much to the dismay of a liberal “comedy” host.
O’Neal shocked many within the entertainment community when he said last November about Trump, “Now that he’s president-elect, you just hope that he can make the world a better place. He won fair and square. We have to give him a chance. There’s no need talking about recounts and this and that.”
He recently appeared at the Turner 2017 Upfront event together with extreme liberal comedian Samantha Bee, who formerly worked on The Daily Show and now hosts her own knock-off show on TBS Full Frontal with Samantha Bee. When asked if he had changed his mind about President Trump in the intervening months, Shaq shut that question down, saying, “We voted, so there’s no need to waste time complaining. The man ‘won,’ apparently fair and square, so we need to give him a shot.”
This did not sit well with Bee, who threw a huge hissy fit about O’Neal’s pro-Trump comments. Said Bee in knee-jerk liberal fashion, “I just don’t believe that the office is so sacred. I actually think it’s literally my patriotic duty to go as hard as humanly possible on this president.” Are you glad Shaquille O’Neal stood up for Trump and angered this liberal?
