It appears we have not yet heard the worst when it comes to what the terrorist organization ISIS is capable of. According to recent reports, ISIS militants have started to announce their marriages to children of the villages they’ve conquered.
On August 3, a Muslim newspaper announced the marriage of an ISIS militant and a 7-year-old girl that lived in an occupied city in Syria. A picture ran with the article that clearly showed that the marriage was not consensual.
According to Sharia Law, men are allowed to marry girls as young as nine years old. Assuming, of course, that “signs of puberty are visible.”
That means it is essentially acceptable by Sharia Law for someone to force a 7-year-old to marry them. However, the thought of a child being forced to marry their conqueror is almost too disturbing to bear.
